Brief on Wireless Routers
The wireless
router (Wireless Router) is like an extended product that combines a simple
wireless AP with a broadband router, not only with all the features of a simple
wireless AP, such as supporting a DHCP client, supporting a VPN, firewall,
supporting WEP encryption, and so on, but also including network address
translation (NAT) feature to support network Connection Sharing for LAN users.
It can realize the Internet Connection Sharing in the home wireless network,
realize the wireless sharing access of ADSL, Cable modem and community
broadband. Wireless routers can be connected to all Ethernet-connected ADSL
modems or cable modems, or they can be accessed via a LAN mode such as
switch/hub and broadband router when used. Its built-in simple virtual dial-up
software, can store user name and password dial-up Internet, can achieve
dial-up Internet access to ADSL, CM, etc. to provide automatic dialing
features, without the need to manually dial or occupy a computer to do server
use.
In addition,
wireless routers generally have a relatively more complete security protection
function. The 3G
router is mainly
embedded in the wireless 3G module in the original router. First, users use a
fee card (USIM card) Plug 3G router, through the operator 3G Network WCDMA,
TD-SCDMA and other dial-up networking, you can achieve data transmission,
Internet and so on. The router has WiFi function
to realize the sharing of the Internet, as long as the mobile phone, computer,
PSP has a wireless network card or with WiFi function can access the Internet
through the 3G wireless router to achieve wireless LAN sharing 3G Wireless
network provides great convenience. Some manufacturers also have wired
broadband interface, without 3G can also be normal access to the Internet.
Through 3G wireless router, can realize broadband connection, reach or exceed
the current ADSL network bandwidth, in the Internet and other applications
become very wide.

2. Connect Online Forever
With a wireless
router, you can connect a 3g/hsdpausbmodem to its built-in USB interface, which
allows you to connect over a 3.5G/HSDPA,3.75G/HSUPA,HSPA+,UMTS,GDGE,GPRS
network, or a GSM network. The download rate is up to 14.4Mbps. JGR-N605
supports Ethernetwan interface, which can be used as adsl/cable modem. When a
wired network connection fails, it is possible to connect to the 3G wireless
network quickly and seamlessly, with maximum connectivity and minimal interference,
through the jgr-n605 built-in failover feature. When a wired network recovers,
it can also automatically reconnect, reducing or minimizing connection costs.
This feature is especially good for office environments, as it is important
that the network continues to be connected there.
3. Multi-function Display tool
The unique 3G
Management Center is a versatile display tool that visually displays signal
conditions that enable users to make the most of their connections. You can
monitor bandwidth with upload speed and download speed. This tool can calculate
the total amount of data or hours used per month.
4. Gain antenna signal
In the wireless
network, the antenna can achieve the purpose of enhancing the wireless signal,
it can be understood as the amplifier of the wireless signal.
The antenna has
different radiation or reception ability in different directions, and the
antenna has both direction and orientation according to the directional
difference. Omni-directional antenna: On the horizontal plane, the radiation
and receive the antenna without the maximum direction is called omnidirectional
antenna. The Omni-directional antenna has no directionality, so it is used in
the central station of point-to-point communication.
For example, to
establish a wireless connection between the two adjacent buildings, you can
choose this type of antenna. Directional antenna: An antenna that has one or more
radiating and receiving capacity in the maximum direction is called a
directional aerial. Directional antenna energy concentration, the gain relative
omni-directional antennas to be high, suitable for long-distance point-to-point
communication, at the same time because of the directional, anti-interference
ability is stronger. For example, in a community, you need to build a wireless
connection across several buildings, you can choose this type of antenna.
Settings
1. wireless
setting
1.1.SSID
SSID (Service Set
Identifier) is an abbreviation of "service group identifier". It is
a wireless network identifier used to identify the identity of a wireless
device found on a specific wireless network. All workstations and access points
must use the same SSID to communicate with each other. The SSID is a 32-bit
data whose value is case-sensitive. It can be the physical location identifier
of the wireless LAN, your name, company name, or company name and department,
preferred banner, etc., but if you set non-English, garbled characters may
appear on some devices, or the connection may not be displayed. On the issue.
1.2. Channel
The channel is
also referred to as "Channel", which is a data signal transmission
channel using a wireless signal as a transmission medium. Wireless broadband
routers can operate on many channels. Various wireless network devices located
in the vicinity must be located on different channels, otherwise signal
interference will occur. If you only have one device, the default channel value
of 6 may be the most appropriate. Unless there is a specific reason to change
the channel (for example, if the interference comes from Bluetooth, microwave
ovens, mobile towers, or other access points in the area), use the factory
defaults. If you have multiple wireless routers and wireless access points on
the network, it is recommended to stagger the channels used by each device. For
example, the 802.11g and 802.11b wireless standards have 11 channels, but only
3 are non-overlapping channels (Channel 1). , channel 6, channel 11).
2. Wireless router security settings
Compared to wired
networks, sending and receiving data over a wireless LAN is easier to
eavesdrop. Designing a complete wireless LAN system, encryption and
authentication are security factors that need to be considered. The most
fundamental purpose of the application of encryption technology in wireless
LANs is to enable wireless services to achieve the same level of security as
wired services. To this end, the IEEE 802.11 standard uses the WEP (Wired
Equivalent Privacy) protocol to set up a special security mechanism to encrypt
the service stream and authenticate the node. It is mainly used for the
confidentiality of link layer information data in wireless LANs. WEP employs a
symmetric encryption mechanism. The encryption and decryption of data uses the
same key and encryption algorithm. WEP uses encryption keys (also known as WEP
keys) to encrypt the data portion of each packet exchanged on an 802.11
network. When encryption is enabled, two 802.11 devices are communicating and
encryption must be enabled and have the same encryption key. WEP encryption is
disabled by default, that is, it is not encrypted.
The wireless
router cooperates with the wireless network card that supports the encryption
function and can encrypt and transmit. Losing data makes it difficult for
others to steal your information. WEP encryption levels are 40 (64) bits and
128 bits, and 128-bit encryption is more secure. The WEP key can be a set of
randomly generated hexadecimal digits or an ASCII character chosen by the user.
In general, we use the latter and enter it manually. Each wireless broadband
router and wireless station must use the same key to communicate. However,
encryption is optional, and most wireless routers default to disabling
encryption. Encryption may have an impact on transmission efficiency.
Other
1.RAM
There are multiple
kinds of memory in the router, used as storage configuration, router operating
system, routing protocol software, etc. In theory, the router memory is better,
but the memory does not directly reflect the performance and capabilities of a
wireless router!
In addition, we
can also see in the parameter table, "support VPN, self-firewall feature,
built-in print server, 64-bit and 128-bit WEP encryption" and other
content, these parameters will be based on product prices, positioning
differences and differences; some products A USB interface is also included. In
terms of security, we pay more attention to the type of encryption supported by
the product. The more types that are supported, the higher the security of its
nature. At the same time, the more functions it supports, the higher its
performance and price. The specific needs of the selection, of course, should
be based on their own reality.
2. Configuration
Before configuring
the wireless router, you must connect the PC and the wireless router with a
network cable. The other end of the network cable must be connected to the LAN
port of the wireless router. After the physical connection is installed, to
configure the wireless router, you must also know two parameters, one is the
username and password of the wireless router; the other is the management IP of
the wireless router. The default wireless router's default management IP is
192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1 (or other). Both the username and password are
admin.
To configure the
wireless router, the IP address of the PC and the management IP of the wireless
router must be in the same network segment. The subnet mask can be used by
default, and the gateway does not need to be set. By 2013, most wireless
routers only support Web page configuration and do not support configuration
modes such as Telnet.
In the browser's
address bar, enter the wireless router's management IP, the desktop will pop up
a login screen, enter the user name and password, we will enter the wireless
router configuration interface.
After entering the
wireless router configuration interface, the system will automatically pop up a
"settings wizard." In the Setup Wizard, the system only provides
settings for the WAN port. Users are advised not to ignore the "Setup
Wizard" and go directly to the "Network Parameter Settings"
option.
